Summary:

Bernadette started with the firm as a law clerk in 2003, and became an associate attorney in 2004. Bernadette practices general civil litigation in all California state and federal courts. Her practice areas include contract, business, and construction disputes, as well as general liability, personal injury, insurance coverage, and bad faith litigation. In every practice area, Bernadette is devoted to achieving her clients’ objectives.

Bernadette has successfully represented individuals and entities, including businesses, insurers, contractors, developers, and homeowners, in all types of disputes. For example, Bernadette defended a homeowner in a multi-million dollar personal injury action involving complex coastal engineering, title, and recreational use immunity issues, as the principal associate attorney. Following the trial court’s defense favored ruling on Bernadette’s motion, plaintiff compromised his claims, settling for less than one percent of his original demand. Bernadette also defended several individuals and entities in a complex partnership/real estate transaction dispute as the principal associate attorney. After seven weeks in trial, the parties reached a defense favorable settlement valued at less than one percent of plaintiffs’ original demand.

Bernadette is a mentor for young Latino Americans, emphasizing the importance of education. She also participates in charity runs/walks throughout Southern California and she enjoys spending time with her husband, Robert, and sons, Dominic and Daniel.
